Clydella B. Meiller

Clydella B. Meiller, age 101 of Baraboo, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center with her sister by her side. Clydella, daughter of Jesse and Mildred (Mills) Jones was born July 22, 1917 in Kendall, WI. She graduated from Baraboo High School, Class of 1938 and Reedsburg Teachers College in 1940. She enlisted in the US Navy Waves during WWII and trained as a Physical Therapist at Hunter College in New York. She then served at US Naval Air Base in Mare Island, California for four years. Upon her honorable discharge she returned to LaCrosse and continued her education where she met and married Dr. Roy Meiller and together they moved to Illinois where they continued teaching. After Roy's passing Dell moved back to Baraboo.She is survived by her sister, LaDorna (Jones) Hill as well as nieces, nephews and friends.Dell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Meiller; brothers, Armin and Lloyd Jones and her brother-in-law, William Hill.A celebration of Clydella's life will take place in the spring.
