Julaine `Julie` Barribeau , Age 87

November 07, 1934 --August 06, 2022

Julaine (Julie) Elizabeth Barribeau passed away on August 6, 2022 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She was born on November 7, 1934 in West Allis, Wisconsin to Herbert Clarence and Clara Viola Olson Mair.

Julaine married Ronald Joseph Barribeau in May 1955 and they knew each other for 73 total years. She was an educated, intelligent, and determined woman holding fast to her beliefs, guiding and encouraging those she loved. Besides holding a teaching degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa she earned a master's degree in special education from the U.W. - Madison. She taught grade school in Monroe, Albany, and Wausau, Wisconsin specializing in helping students with learning disabilities. She was active for many years in her church. She loved music, gardening, geology, antiques and garage sales. She relished any dessert.

Julie and Ron spent their last years together in Baraboo, Wisconsin where they loved to drive through the area hills on beautiful days with their beloved pug, Beau.

Julaine is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son: Amy Barribeau Lang, Lori (Rich) Sterkowitz and Paul (Claude Mills) Barribeau.

She had five grandchildren, and five "greats" as she loved to call them. Sister-in-law Barbara Elmer Mair also survives. Her parents, brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Delores Mair, sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Gerald Carlstein, brother Glenn Mair preceded her in death.

We celebrate that Julaine touched so many lives as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and teacher. We love her, remember her and will miss her in our lives. The Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home of Baraboo is assisting the family.
