Scott L. Uptagraw , Age 56
Scott L. Uptagraw, age 56, of Rock Springs, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023 at UW Hospital after a sudden illness. Scott, son of Richard and Shirley (Werla) Uptagraw was born March 3, 1967. He was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1986. On March 14, 1992 he was united in marriage to Kathy York at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo.
He was currently employed as a Supervisor at Columbia County Solid Waste Management in Portage. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, watching football, camping and four-wheeling on local trails. Scott was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children and granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Kacy (Nick) Meyer; son, Brandon; granddaughter, Lucy Elizabeth; siblings, Laura Knuth, Ruth (Robert) Steinhorst, Sandra (Bruce) Preuss, Todd (Betty) Uptagraw and Richard (Danielle) Uptagraw as well as his father and mother-in-law, Dan and Gayle York; sister-in-law, Tammy (Dale) Roe and brother-in-law, Roger (Sue) York as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a grandson; granddaughter, Autumn Rose and brother-in-law, Richard Lee York.
A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home.

I am sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I worked with Scott when he was with Onyx/Veolia just before he started working for Columbia County.
