Beverly A. Mickelson , Age 86

February 12, 1938 --January 26, 2024

Beverly A. Mickelson, age 85, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Clare Meadows Nursing Home in Baraboo. Bev was born February 12, 1938 on a small, horse-drawn dairy farm near Blanchardville where she formed values and memories that she cherished and shared her entire life. Following High School in Blanchardville, where she was a softball pitcher, an excellent singer, and a homecoming queen, she graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison as a registered nurse.

She married Myron (Mike) Mickelson and together they had two sons and many adventures. She was a devoted mother and worked for many years as a supervising registered nurse at the Sauk County Health Care Center. Bev loved her family and friends, nature, working hard, snowstorms, parades, cooking, Christmas, and any gathering.

She is survived by her sons, Erik and Peter, many nieces and nephews, her dog Betsy, and some great friends, especially Carol with whom she enjoyed life for many years.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Alve and Rebecca Thompson (née Syse), her siblings, Adeline, Robert, and Laurabelle, her husband Mike, and many close friends and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held in her memory sometime later this spring.

Beverly was much loved and will be dearly missed. Godspeed.

I truly will miss her. We had plenty of late nights with her and her conversations were priceless. I loved how she often talked about Christmas and all the cooking and baking. I will miss my Bevie

My condolences to Bev's family. I worked with Bev many years ago at the Sauk County Health Care Center and would run into her from time-to-time after that. She was a wonderful nurse and a lovely and gracious woman. May her family and friends be comforted in Bev's legacy and memories of shared times together. Rest in peace, Bev. Your loving memory lives on, God bless you in His glory in Heaven. Amen.
