Rosalyn Farr, age 89, of Baraboo passed away on August 8, 2024, at home with her loving husband by her side.
Rosie was born in 1935 to Henry & Gladys Werla and grew up in rural Lodi with her nine siblings. She attended Lodi schools. She met Thomas Seymour and they married in 1954. Together they had three children, Cheryl, Randall, and Richard. Rosie was involved in her children’s lives as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and chaperone for many school field trips. She was active in city league softball with her friends. She took up square dancing as a hobby.
Rosie met Bryant Farr and married him in 1986. Together they moved to Springfield, IL then a suburb of St. Louis, MO and a suburb of Cincinnati, OH to facilitate Bryant’s career, before returning to Baraboo in 1999. Their setting in Fairfield Township has allowed her to enjoy the many types of wildlife, including some that would visit right upon their back deck. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan, and a faithful client of Marilyn, her hairdresser. Rosie & Bryant attended Trinity Episcopal Church. Their pet cats brought her delight.
Rosalyn is survived by her husband, Bryant; her three children, Cheryl Seymour, Randy (Sue) Seymour, and Rich (Miki) Seymour, all of Baraboo; six grandchildren, Beth, Thomas, Sam, Seth, Richie, and Kai; four great-grandchildren, Silas, Rory, Sadie, and Luna; three honorary grandchildren, Victor, Julie, and Stephanie. She is further survived by five siblings, Marion Beaudette, John (Sheila) Werla, Jeannine Werla, Dale (Sue) Werla, and Elaine Nolden; Bryant’s children, Joe (Carolyn) Farr, Joanne (Michael) Beda, Jim (Elizabeth) Farr, and John (LuAnne) Farr.
Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Tom; four siblings, Frances Jones, Jeanette Miller, Eugene Werla, and Fredrick Werla.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 with Father Michael Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the SSM Hospice Team for their care and attention.
Rosie always loved to have music on, and in the lyrics from one of the classics:
“On the wings of a snow white dove
He sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above
On the wings of a dove”
- Ferlin Husky, "Wings of a Dove" Lyrics
