James Edward Hauge, 84, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at Meadow View Memory Care in Baraboo. Born on August 23, 1940, in Baraboo, to Lloyd and Louise Hauge, Jim lived a full life rooted in family, hard work, and cherished friendships.
Jim was a proud graduate of Baraboo High School and attended the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. He began his career as an injection mold designer, working for many years at Flambeau Plastics before pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit and founding his own business, JIM Design Co. His craftsmanship and dedication to his trade left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
On July 21, 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Ellen, in Baraboo. Together they raised three children: daughters, Jamie and Andrea, and son, Chad. Jim’s greatest joy was his family, and he especially treasured time with his grandchildren: Jade, Justine, Jared, Justin, Brady, Cole, and Beau, and his great-grandchildren: Easton, Breccon, Cooper, Majel, Porter, Francis, and Aivon.
Jim’s life was enriched by his love of golf and the many friendships he nurtured throughout the years. He will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, and the quiet strength with which he faced life’s challenges. His family finds comfort knowing that his message to them would be simple yet profound: He loved you all.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie and son, Chad; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Andrew Hauge; sister, Pat Dunse; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ellen; daughter, Andrea; parents, Lloyd and Louise; and siblings, Jean Friberg, Betty Raabe, Sharron Rheaume, and Mary Chapman (Cottrill).
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 11am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of service at church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
