Robert F. “Bob” Kasten, age 93, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at his residence at Oak Park Place with family at his side.
Bob was born to Fredrick and Leona (Kasdorf) Kasten in Sauk County on May 10, 1932. He graduated from Baraboo High School, Class of 1951. He answered the call to serve his country in the Army from 1953-1955. On May 11, 1957 he was united in marriage with Joyce Florence Lyon at the Christ Lutheran Church in the township of Greenfield. They spent 47 years together. Robert worked for a dairy farm for many years in Hartland then worked and retired from Silgan Containers. Bob enjoyed hunting, watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers and going to the Casino. He always enjoyed being active and socializing.
He is survived by his niece, Patsy Simonds; sister-in-law, Mary Kasten and her daughter, Terri (Mike) Neuman; special friend, Marilyn Cuff; other relatives and dear friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; son, Steven and his brother, Don Kasten.
Military Honors and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ochsner Park Zoo.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Place and SSM Hospice for their exceptional care of Bob.
