Jerome "Jerry" Robert Anderson, 91, of Rockport, Texas joined the Lord Friday, October 3, 2025.
Jerry was born April 21, 1934 to Alfred and Jennie Anderson in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He was the youngest of 9 children. He graduated from Baraboo High School, before enrolling in the Army where he served for 3+ years as a medic and a sharpshooter. In 1958, Jerry met his first wife, Ellie Sivek, shortly after being discharged from the Army. They wed in 1959 and later welcomed two sons, Rob and Dave.
Jerry, Ellie and the boys lived on a farm in River Falls, Wisconsin. He worked at St. Paul Ammonia in Hastings, Minnesota as a lab technician and then transferred to 3M.
In later years, he went on to meet his second wife, Diane. Together, they spent their retirement in Carlile, Wyoming and then Rockport, Texas.
Jerry was an avid sportsman and shared that passion with his two sons. His most cherished hunting memory was taking Rob and Dave to Gillette, Wyoming to hunt deer when they were teenagers. Jerry never let his age stop him from hunting, and at 80 years old, he shot a Boone and Crockett moose in Pinedale, Wyoming. He was one of the original founding members of the Pope & Young Club. The pinnacle of his hunting career was a hunting safari in Africa.
Adored by his grandchildren, Jerry would always end a phone call with “love you more!” His kindness was unmatched, his laugh echoed through every room, and his big smile would brighten everyone’s day. Jerry lived a wonderful life and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his first wife, Ellie, his two sons, Rob (Heidi), Dave (Kim); four grandchildren, Loghan, Sage (Jeff), Janse, and Kylie; and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by his step children Georgia (Ron), JJ, Andrea (Tom), and Andy, and several step grandchildren; Shaun, Daniel, Joseph, Christopher, Misty, Jessica and Konor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and his second wife, Diane.
A special thank you to Christine, his caretaker who attended to him for many years, and treated him as her own father.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home in Baraboo. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, where Military Honors will be performed.
