Mary C. Befera, age 79, of Baraboo, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.
Mary was born on December 7, 1945, to O.J. and Linda (Offre) Befera in Baraboo. She attended Baraboo High School and spent her life working in customer service. Over the years, she connected with countless people as a waitress, CNA, hotel receptionist, and most recently, during her 13 years at Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Baraboo.
Mary had a deep love for Elvis Presley--if Elvis music was playing at the ReStore, chances were Mary was nearby. She was a coffee connoisseur, a movie enthusiast, a devoted fan of Circus World and enjoyed listening to music. She adored flowers and cherished time with her children and grandchildren. She recently celebrated becoming a great-grandmother for the third time.
Mary is survived by her children, Lisa (Tim) Bolduc, Megan (Nels) Andersen, and Matthew (Melissa) Angle; grandchildren, Michael (Meg) LoCicero, Tony (Catherine) LoCicero, Elise Andersen, Tessa Angle, and Tyler Angle; great-grandchildren, Layla, Gianna, and Bennett; her brother, Tom Befera; sister, Susan (Marc) McKinney; as well as special nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Greg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo, with Fr. Bill Van Wagner presiding. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church and continue until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be shared with local organizations.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Randy Krszjzaniek, Hospice, and the staff at St. Clare Hospital and Sauk County Healthcare Center in Reedsburg for their compassionate care of Mary.
