Gerald N. Meyers, age 82, of Baraboo, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Jerry was born to Roy and Ida (Zimmerly) Meyers in Baraboo on August 15, 1943. He graduated from Baraboo High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation, he began his career in 1968 with the Asbestos Workers Union and went on to work with the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators until his retirement in 2008. Jerry returned to Baraboo to be closer to his family.
Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, scuba diving and metal detecting. In his younger years, he water skied for the Tommy Bartlett Show. He especially liked golfing and singing karaoke with his best friend George, as well as remodeling the farmhouse he lived in. Jerry spent his last summer rebuilding old lawnmowers with Marty.
He is survived by his sons, Marc (Cheryl) Meyers, Michael Meyers, Matthew (Kate) Meyers and Martin Meyers; daughter, Sara Meyers; brother, Wayne Meyers; sister, Joyce (Chuck) Hamilton; sister-in-law, Betty Meyers, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many good friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil, Roy “Buddy”, Curtis, Dean, Edwin, and infant Duane; sisters, Audrey, Lois, Arphalyne and his grandson, Jameson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home with Pastor Roxi Gnatzig officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m until the time of service. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Baraboo Township.
