Darleen Mae Seymour, age 96, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, with her children by her side, at Jefferson Meadows in Baraboo. Darleen, daughter of Philip and Julia (Mueller) Rogers, was born on May 16, 1929, in the Town of Honey Creek. Darleen was a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School, Class of 1947. On November 6, 1948, she married Ned C. Seymour at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leland; he preceded her in death on May 12, 2008.
Darleen dedicated much of her career to St. Clare Hospital, where she worked as a Medical Records Secretary. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures – reading, feeding and watching the birds, and spending time rocking and caring for the babies in her family. She also loved a cup of coffee with a cookie. Darleen was a long-time faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Baraboo.
She is survived by her two children, Kathleen (James) Balfanz of North Freedom, and Ned (Mary) Seymour of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Balfanz, Matthew (Colette) Balfanz, Rebekah (Andrew) Kaukl, Andrea (Bruce) Jackson, Kathleen (Kyle) Bernander, and Clara (Wyatt) Zalewski; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
Darleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Ned C. Seymour; siblings, Merton Rogers, Donald Rogers, Ellen Zick and Janette Gurgel.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo, with Pastor Timothy Kuske officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
