June 08, 1944 --April 28, 2026

Mary A. Greenwood, age 81, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Mary, daughter of Oscar and Evelyn (Edwards) Fillhouer, was born on June 8, 1944. She was a graduate of Baraboo Senior High School.

Mary worked as a receptionist for Medical Associates in Baraboo before later working as a secretary for MSA. However, she devoted most of her time to raising her four children.

Mary was a social person who enjoyed spending time with others. She was a regular at the Flamingo Lounge and loved being there with friends. Mary enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and cooking. She also enjoyed taking rides in the Model A. Above all else, she valued her faith and her family.

She is survived by her children, Todd (Judy) Greenwood of Baraboo, George (Shelley) Greenwood of Greenwood, IN, Kimberly Alwin of North Freedom, and David (Melissa) Greenwood of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jessica, Krysta, Elizabeth, Steven, Mitchell, Ben, Karsen, and Hudson; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Barb Meyer; and brother, Mike “Ollie” Fillhouer; as well as other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Evelyn; two brothers, Pat and Steve Fillhouer; as well as the love of her life, Richard “Big Dick” Christian.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 11:00 am at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will occur on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service.

A special thank you to her sister-in-law, Patty Zirzow for her daily visits and her rice crispies treats that were made with love, and to the staff at SSM Hospice for their support and care.
