Scott Bradley Hamilton , Age 73

March 18, 1953 --May 28, 2026

Scott Bradley Hamilton, age 73, passed away May 28, 2026, in Dubuque, IA, in the company of his loving wife, following a period of illness.

Scott was born March 18, 1953, in Whitehall, to Beatrice and Robert Hamilton. His family moved to Baraboo in 1966, where he attended school, made lifelong friends, met his wife, Terri, and later started his own family. In 2009, they moved to Dickeyville, where he lived until the time of his passing.

Scott was perennially active, running daily despite the weather, racing in local favorites like Syttende Mai and Crazylegs, and often golfing, playing tennis, kayaking, or riding his bike. He was a proud member of the Baraboo Track & Field team in high school and kept up with track & field records, athletes, and stats across Wisconsin, often traveling to state meets to watch in person.

Scott was an artist at heart, quietly expressing his view of the world through sketches, drawings, and paintings, delighting his daughters by turning their childhood scribbles into masterpieces and surprising family members with art he had created for them. He and Terri often visited art fairs across the state, and he enjoyed touring art museums and galleries in their travels. He worked for many years at Humane Manufacturing, MSA, and Eagle Windows and Doors, putting his skill and artistry in drawing to work in drafting and design.

Scott regularly shared his love and care for family and community through his service. He served in many roles at Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo, most notably as a trustee and a leader of youth groups and AWANA clubs for years, as he cherished the time serving young people in the church. After moving to Dickeyville, he served on the Leadership Team and Pastoral Search Committee at Community Evangelical Free Church in Platteville.

He was known to be humble, reserved, and a good listener, and he was also innately curious, interested in others, and quite chatty one-on-one.

His wife, Terri, was the love of his life. Together for 49 years and married for 47, they were true partners with a relationship marked by deep respect, admiration, and love. He enjoyed things most when doing them with her, whether it be church leadership, cooking, house projects, or buying her a bike, kayak, or pickleball paddle to accompany him on his latest active adventure.

Scott is survived by his wife, Terri Hamilton (née Saunders); daughters, Kristi (Matt) Moore of Phoenix, AZ and Haley (Jordan) Shilts of Lakewood, CO; grandsons, Brody, Keller, Beckett, and Keegan Moore and Liam and Bennett Shilts; siblings, Craig Hamilton, Steve (Nancy) Hamilton, Nancy (Steve) Porter, Sara (Steve) Steinhorst, and Matt (Leslie) Hamilton; many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Hamilton (née Engevold); father, Robert Hamilton; sister, Lisa Dillon; sister-in-law, Debra Hamilton; and nephews, Aaron and Clinton Hamilton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home in Baraboo. The Funeral Service will take place the following day, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo with Rev. R. Carl Zwart & Pastor Dan Gunderson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, and a luncheon will be held. All who knew him are invited to join his family in sharing memories and celebrating his life.

To honor Scott’s lifelong passion for sport, memorials may be made to the family with a designation toward the Baraboo Track and Field Program.
