Sarah Jane Puttkamer , Age 36

June 28, 1990 --July 15, 2026

Sarah Jane Puttkamer, age 36, of Baraboo, passed away, with the love of her family by her side, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, following a long health battle.

Sarah was born on June 28, 1990, in Baraboo to her loving parents, Jane and Casey McGann. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 2008, where she enjoyed participating in many sports and especially cherished her many years of dance. After high school, she attended Boo-U before pursuing her passion for cosmetology at the Aveda Institute.

Sarah found her calling as a hairstylist and proudly served her clients at Nail'D with Style Salon for 15 years. She loved getting to know each person who sat in her chair.  Through her talent, kindness, and genuine care for others, Sarah helped people feel confident, valued, and beautiful.

In 2017, Sarah married Josh Puttkamer.  Together they were blessed with two wonderful children, Jace and Livia, who were the greatest joy of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, whether creating art projects together, exploring on backyard adventure walks, or simply sharing hugs, laughter, and countless precious memories. Being their mother was Sarah's greatest blessing and proudest accomplishment.

Sarah was the oldest of two children and shared an extraordinary bond with her younger brother, Sean McGann. They were each other's biggest supporters, protectors, and lifelong companions. The memories they created together will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her husband, Josh; children, Jace and Livia; parents; Casey (Jane) McGann; brother, Sean (Jordan) McGann; aunts and uncles, Bryan (Julia) McGann, Mike (Caroline) McGann, Mary Renee McGann, Rebecca (Paul) Gilles, John (Sandy) Stormer, Roberta Briggs, Cindy Stormer; niece and nephews, Mason McGann, August Williams, Jackson, Layla and Jake Puttkamer, special cousins, Luke, Maddy, Mitch, Dan, Aaron, Kevin, Mara, Corey and Amy as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Nancy McGann; Pat Murray and Ron Stormer; uncle, Dan Stormer and her cousin, Amanda McGann.

A public visitation will be held at Emanuel Church in Baraboo on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A small memorial will be held at 12 noon at church. A private family funeral will be held. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Sarah's family is deeply grateful for the compassion, dignity, and love shown to her by the staff, who welcomed and cared for her as family. They also extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Krszjzaniek and the staff at St. Clare Meadows for their exceptional care, kindness, and support throughout Sarah's journey.

Sarah's family gives thanks to God for the gift of her life, for the incredible strength she showed, and for the family members, friends, and caregivers who loved and prayed for her. They find comfort in their faith, knowing Sarah is now in heaven, where all pain and suffering have ended, every tear has been wiped away, and she rests in perfect peace.
