Lonita S. Schulze , Age 83

September 25, 1942 --July 25, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lonita (Sutton) Schulze at the age of 83 on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo surrounded by her family.

Lonita was born in St. Louis, MO on September 25, 1942. She married the love of her life, Richard Otto Schulze on August 19, 1961 and they had two children.

Lonita spent her life helping others and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was always the ‘life of the party’. She touched the lives of many who had the honor of knowing her. Her silliness, warmth and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She found joy in feeding the birds, deer, squirrels, turkeys and any others who visited her back yard forest. They would not go hungry! No food was disposed of, if the animals would eat it! As she became more housebound, a neighbor’s son, Jacob, would come everyday to make sure the animals were fed and that drinking water was always available. We thank Jacob for helping out!

Lonita was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Otto Schulze; son, Steven Edward Schulze; parents, Lonnie and Audrey Sutton as well as her brother, Mike Sutton.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann (Brian) Chambers; grandsons, Brice (Camila) Parchem and Richard (Stacey) Schulze and granddaughter, Maggie Mae Parchem are left to continue her legacy. She also leaves behind her sister, Janice (Bob) Palmbos; daughter-in-law, Karen Schulze and brother, Lonnie (June) Sutton, Jr. as well as other relatives and friends.

Lonita was a giver and all of her friends, doctors, lawyers, mail workers and made homemade jam through the years, as giving was one of her favorites things to do!

A celebration of life will be held at her home at a later date.

Beth Anne, so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was the life of the party at all the family reunions. Her smile could be seen from across the yard and her laugh was infectious.
