Donald W. Rogers, BarabooDonald W. Rogers of Baraboo, died on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at St. Clare Hospice House with his family by his side at the age of 96. Donald, son of Philip Corbin and Julia (Mueller) Rogers was born May 30, 1916 in Honey Creek Township. On Jan. 27, 1940 he was united in marriage to Lorraine E. Born. He was employed by Northwestern Railroad Car Corp. and Badger Ordnance. Donald was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and ginseng hunting.He is survived by his children, Don (Jean) Rogers of Baraboo, Donna Bambrough of Baraboo; sister, Darlene Seymour of Baraboo; brother-in-law, Martin Gurgel of Baraboo; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Julia Rogers; wife, Lorraine; daughter, Judy Kacynski; sons-in-law, Bill Kacynski and Richard Bambrough; brother, Merton Rogers; sisters, Ellen Zick and Janette Gurgel; brothers-in-law, Eddy Zick and Ned Seymour; sister-in-law, Edna Rogers; granddaughters Connie Bambrough and Teresa Kacynski as well as grandson-in-law, Michael Showers.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Fricke officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or School. The family would like to thank Pastor Fricke, Schroeder and Vomhof for all their visits. They would also like to thank the Baraboo Ambulance crews, St. Clare Hospital, St. Clare Meadows, Greenbriar Assisted Living, St. Judes Hospice, St. Clare Hospice House and Dr. Trotter for all their wonderful care.
