Donnie Beckwith


Donnie Beckwith of Baraboo passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at home surrounded by his family and closest friends.He was born in Reedsburg to Lyle and Ruth (Muchow) on October 23, 1939. He attended school in Mauston for ten years and then graduated from Baraboo High School. After high school Donnie joined the Army. Upon completion of his service to his country, Donnie became an Engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1997. On April 12, 1977 Donnie married Kandie Hill at the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo.As a member of the North Freedom Rod and Gun Club Donnie enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as golf. He was also a long time member of The First United Methodist Church in Baraboo.Donnie is survived by his wife Kandie of Baraboo; his children Shelly Smith of Baraboo, Jesse (Jean) of Madison, Stephanie Steinhorst of Baraboo and Amanda (Jason) Blum of North Freedom; eight grandchildren; his brother Ken (Sandy) of Middleton, sisters Betty (Victor) Markin of Baraboo and Lavonne Tangney of North Freedom.Preceding Donnie in death are his parents Lyle and Ruth, a brother Dale and sisters Carol and Donna Faye.A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday January 24, 2013 at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Donna Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until time of services. The family requests that memorials be made to the Baraboo chapter of Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO).
