Irene McElhatton

Irene C. (Faust) McElhatton, age 92, of Baraboo passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 in Baraboo. Irene was born on January 1, 1921 in Cross Plains to Hugo and Ottilia Faust. On September 25, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ralph 'Mac' McElhatton; he preceded her in death in 1999.Irene led a very active life volunteering for many years at St. Clare Meadows Care Center, until one year ago. As recently reported in the Baraboo News Republic, she was in the first circus parade in Milwaukee in 1963. She loved to play cards and socialize with many friends at Corson Square. Mac and Irene spent many happy retirement years in Florida and Wisconsin.Irene is survived by sons, Tim (Barbara Armstrong) McElhatton of Milwaukee and Terry (Theresa) McElhatton of Cambridge; granddaughter, Tammy ( Doug Stewart) McElhatton of Janesville; great-granddaughter, Taylor Stewart of Janesville; brothers, Curt (Dorothy) Faust and Bob (Lisa) Faust; sisters, Shirley (Larry) Knight and Mona (Dick) King; she is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ray; and sisters, Jeanette and Lucille.Funeral Services for Irene will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11am at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave, Baraboo, with Sally Parish officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am until time of service, at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the Sauk Prairie Cemetery.
