Durlin B. Behnke


Durlin B. Behnke, age 84 of Reedsburg, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his residence. Durlin, son of Walter and Elsa (Pfaff) Behnke was born April 8, 1928 in Abelman (now Rock Springs). He worked as a painter for Badger Ordnance for many years until his retirement. Durlin was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the North Freedom American Legion and Reedsburg VFW. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Brewers, Cubs, football and Nascar as well as gardening and producing maple syrup.He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Joe, Jr.) Naquin of Baraboo; sisters, Elizabeth Severson of Kendall, Norma Caflisch, Joyce Karg and Donna (Jerry) Brooks all of Baraboo; brother James (June) Behnke of Reedsburg; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.Durlin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pearl Edwards and Lois Hartung and an infant brother, Henry.A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Coach House in Rock Springs from noon until 2 p.m.
