Boyd D. Cuff


Boyd Duane Cuff, 82, of Baraboo, loving husband, father, grandfather, and wonderful friend of many went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 26, 2013. Boyd was born on March 2, 1931, the son of the late Duane and Marion Cuff.Boyd was a graduate of Portage High School, class of 1950. In 1953 he married Marilyn DeBeck at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. They were blessed with two children, Cynthia K. Cornwell of Fort Wayne, IN and Daniel B. (Denise) Cuff of Brodhead. Boyd was highly respected in the dairy industry as a research and development director. He worked in Portage, Sauk City, Whitewater, and Louisville, KY until his retirement. He was proud of his accomplishments in developing cultured food products.Boyd was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Baraboo. He was also a member of Golden Kiwanis. He taught Sunday School and confirmation. He was instrumental in establishing a Lutheran Church in Sauk City. He enjoyed living in the country; fishing, farming, dancing, gardening, and traveling to Belgium, Europe, Bahamas, and Hawaii. Boyd was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed going to Packer and Brewer games and supporting Matt Kenseth and NASCAR. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His life touched many people.Boyd is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn of Baraboo; one daughter, Cynthia K. Cornwell of Fort Wayne, IN; one son, Daniel B. (Denise) Cuff of Brodhead; three grandchildren, Jason Cuff of Janesville, Alex Cornwell of Fort Wayne, IN, and Jordan Cornwell of Oregon. He is further survived by his brother, Lyle (Beverly) Cuff of Madison; sister-in-law, Dorothy (the late Harley) Krey of Spring Green; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, close relatives of Belgium, Europe, and dear friends, Q.P. and Belva Hess and Dorothy (the late Al) Zamzow.Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine McDonald; and sister-in-law, Edna Hanson.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 624 East St., Baraboo. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. John's Lutheran Church media fund, endowment fund, or flower guild.
