Carl H. Zirzow


Carl H. Zirzow, age 70, of Fairfield Township, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Carl was born on March 21, 1943 to Earl and Doris (Kollath) Zirzow in Waukesha. The family moved to Baraboo when he was young and lived here most of his life. He was united in marriage to Patricia Greenwood on December 2, 1961 in Baraboo. He had been employed by Greenwood Forest Products for 39 years and did maintenance at the Sauk County Fairgrounds for many years.Carl loved raising his family and always being there for everyone. He thoroughly enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and hunting, and loved hobby farming.Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia A. Zirzow; his children, Brian and Rhonda (Quindt) Zirzow, Scott Zirzow; his grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob; his father, Earl Zirzow; four brothers, Walter and Mary, Richard and Karen, Roger and Bonnie, all of Baraboo, and David and Deb of Illinois; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Zirzow and his daughter, Tracy.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Avenue in Baraboo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Save the Grandstand" at the Sauk County Fairgrounds.Carl will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
