Audrey Mae Bauer

Audrey Mae Bauer, age 87, of Merrimac passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Our House Assisted Living. Audrey, daughter of Charles and Meta (Huebbe) Gustin was born on Dec. 8, 1925, Baraboo.She was united in marriage to Emil "Bennie" Bauer, August 21, 1946 in Baraboo.In her teenage years Audrey worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Baraboo. Audrey also worked at the hardware store, A & W, and The Shack in Merrimac. Audrey lovingly cared for her family and willingly served the community as a beautiful soloist, crafter and baker.Her hobbies include, bowling, crafts, cooking for the church, supporting family activities with her children and grandchildren and she especially loved dancing with her beloved husband. Audrey loyally attended church atImmanuelLutheranChurchand served on the Women of the Church and as assistant treasurer for many years. Audrey had a beautiful voice and sang at many weddings, funerals and family functions.She was preceded in death by parents, husband Bennie and brothers Charles, Roger and John Gustin.Survivors include her son, Aurey Ben of Baraboo; daughter Judy Mae (Blaine) Nowak of Milton; grandchildren, Sandy (Bauer) Coppola, Jennifer (Nowak) Fujii, Noah and Nick Schultz, Tia Mae Nowak; brother-in-law George (Dorothy) Bauer; sister-in-law, Marge Bauer as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Merrimac with Pastor Mary Pharmer officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Alzheimer's Association.
