Karen Ann Kremsreiter

Karen Ann (Kosinski) Kremsreiter, age 67 of Baraboo, passed from her earthly life on May 28, 2013, and into the arms of her Savior. Beloved wife, treasured mother and grandmother, and adored sister, she was surrounded by her family and comforted in the knowledge that Christ would carry her home.Karen was born in Milwaukee on August 12, 1945. She was united in marriage to James (Jim) Kremsreiter on July 20, 1968. Together they owned and operated Lakeway Resort in Baraboo for 23 years. Karen taught elementary art for the Sauk Prairie School District for 15 years and volunteered her time to bring art awareness and inspiration to the children at St. Joseph's School. She enjoyed reading, visiting her family in New Mexico, traveling with her husband, praying, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Karen faithfully attended mass at St. Joseph's Church, where she was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella.Karen was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Carla Kosinski, who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by her husband Jim; two daughters, Amy (Adam) Romberg and Sara (Doug) Beachy; son Ken Kremsreiter; sister Jill (Michael) Plaman; twin brother Brian Kosinski; and countless other beloved godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. An extraordinary grandmother to Emma, Schuyler, Jurrien, Greta, Xander, and Elliott, she treasured their art projects and knew how to make each of them feel special and loved.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 4 p.m. at church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.Karen's family is grateful for the compassionate doctors, nurses, aides, and other professionals who, along with family, lovingly attended her during her final days at St. Clare Hospice House.Karen will be remembered for her gentle and understanding spirit and the many ways in which she manifested God's grace on earth, showing compassion and unconditional love to all of God's creation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's School for the benefit of children's art education.
