Elaine Haag


Elaine (Crahen) Haag, age 73 of Madison, formerly of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the UW Hospital in Madison. Elaine was born on August 12, 1939 in Freedom Township, Sauk County to the late Francis and Catherine Crahen. She was united in marriage to Francis Haag on January 20, 1962 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo.Elaine was a highly skilled seamstress and had taught sewing classes for many years. She will be remembered for her artistic abilities with stained glass and painting.She is survived by her husband, Fran of Madison; three children, Debra (Robert) Machotka of Madison, Michael (Michelle) Haag of Seeley/Duluth, and Patrick (Heather) Haag of Grand Cayman; her grandchildren, Malcolm Haag, Ceera and Mason Machotka, Luke and Joshua Haag, her sister, Marge Sutter; her brother, John (Margaret) Crahen; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Crahen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth; her brother, Dennis Crahen; and her sister, Marion Crahen.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo with Elaine's cousin, Monsignor Charles Schluter, and Father Jay Poster co-officiating. A rosary will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, followed by visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. in Baraboo; and on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass, at the church. Memorials may be made to Carbone Cancer Center of UW Hospital, Madison.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Anne Traynor and all the nurses and staff at UW Hospital for their care and compassion."Letting Go No more crying...
