Marjorie Vomhof


Marjorie Ann 'Marge' Vomhof, age 80, of West Baraboo died at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, she went to heaven on Friday, June 21, 2013 after a brief illness. Marge was born on Dec. 20, 1932 to Kenneth and Della (Pohlman) Cantwell in Keystone, IA. In 1950 she graduated from Keystone High School. On June 6, 1956 she married Ervine Vomhof at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Marge was a housewife in the Lutheran parsonage in Alma City (rural Janesville), Rock Springs, and Watertown. She thoroughly enjoyed accompanying her husband as he filled Pastoral vacancies in Virginia Beach, VA, Fayettville, NC, and Alexandria, LA. She and her family moved to West Baraboo in 1994.She is survived by her husband, Pastor Ervine Vomhof; and two sons, Jerold (Deborah) Vomhof, of Watertown and David (Kristin) Vomhof of De Forest; five grandchildren, Nathan, Mitchell, Brett, Mikaela, and Samuel. She is also survived by four sisters, Jean Tecklenberg, Shirley (Lyle) Miller, Patty (Terry) Cranston, and Ellen (Don) Stevens; brother-in-law, Roger (Marjory) Vomhof; as well as many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law, Duane Tecklenberg and Arnold Vomhof.A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Thomas Fricke officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo, continued visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 10 a.m. until time of service, at the church. Burial will follow the service in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
