Shirley M. Liebig

Shirley M. Liebig, of Baraboo, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center at the age of 92. Shirley, daughter of Fora and Chloe (Douglas) DuBois was born on Jan. 12, 1921 in North Freedom. She attended North Freedom grade school and graduated from North Freedom High School. On Dec. 23, 1951 she was united in marriage to Johnny Whitmore. Together they resided in the Milwaukee and Madison areas before his death on May 3, 1978. On April 30, 1979 she was united in marriage to John Liebig in Beaver Dam. Together they lived in Beaver Dam, Pharr, TX and New Braunfels, TX until they moved to Baraboo in 1994. John preceded Shirley in death on Dec. 13, 1998. Shirley worked in the restaurant business in Milwaukee; Golden Guernsey Dairy in 1958 as well as Badger Powder Plant and the telephone company.Survivors include, her nieces and nephews, Beverly (Arden) Gaffney of Baraboo, Dean (Arlene) Ninneman of Reedsburg, Ellen (Edward) Fry of Baraboo; the Crawford Family, Robert (Eola) Crawford of Rock Springs, Carol (Henry) Vogel of Chetek, James (Sue) Crawford of Tennessee, Gary (Jacki) Crawford of Baraboo; the Liebig Family, Joseph, Tony, Mary, Barb, Cathy and Ann; other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sisters, Lucille Ninneman and Crystal Crawford; brother, Merton DuBois; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
