Robert G. Lindenau


Robert 'Bob' G. Lindenau, age 86, died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Oak Park Place in Baraboo. Bob was born on April 23, 1927 to Frederick and Myrtle (Sorensen) Lindenau in Chicago, Ill. He was united in marriage to Marion Carlson on September 8, 1951 in at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chicago.Bob proudly served in the Navy on a sub chaser in Juneau, Alaska at the end of WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Wisconsin Power and Light from 1951 until 1992, where he began as an engineer and finished his career in management. He was a longtime member of both the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. Bob was an exceptional woodworker, an avid fisherman and golfer, and loved to travel. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandsons.Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion; his children, Karen (James) Evenson of Baraboo, Scott (Susan) Lindenau of Aspen, CO, and Steven Lindenau of Foothill Ranch, CA; and four grandsons, Erik and Nicholas Lindenau of CA, and Boris, and Rem Lindenau of CO.He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William Lindenau.A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo.The family would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to the staff at Oak Park Place Assisted Living Facility in Baraboo, and the St. Jude's Hospice Services.
