Ronald "Ron" E. Custer, 87, of Baraboo passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home. Ron, son of Daniel and Fanny (Gibney) Custer was born on June 15, 1926. He was united in marriage to Mary Falk on October 23, 1948 in Baraboo.Ron enlisted into the army in December 1944 and was honorably discharged in November 1946. He was a WWII veteran. He worked as a carpenter for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing horseshoes.He is survived by his wife Mary; son, Michael (Margery) Custer of Pardeeville; grandchildren, Cris (Brent Eggen) Custer of Wisconsin Dells, Jami (Jeff) Hebl of Portage; great-grandchildren, Drew Eggen, Jake, Jordan, and Madison Hebl; sister, Joyce Johnstone of Oak Creek; sister-in-laws, Shirley Falk of Lodi, Ruthie Falk of Baraboo, and Mary Falk of DeForest; brother-in-law, Tom Falk of Poynette; and many other relatives and friends.Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Doug and Clark Custer, sisters; Wanda Schaefer, and Marge Mitchell.Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11am at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Hutchens officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Health United Hospice or the charity of your choice. Military Rites will be conducted by the Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard.
