Elisabeth Peidelstein (Taschelmeyer), age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo. Elisabeth, daughter of Matthias and Theresa (Pfeiffer) Taschelmeyer, was born on May 15, 1927 in Vinkovci, Yugoslavia (now Croatia).She was united in marriage to Anton Peidelstein in Linz, Austria on November 11, 1949. Together they moved to America in December of 1951 and settled in the Chicago area. They later moved to Baraboo in 1989.Elisabeth enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She was very talented with needlework and loved jigsaw puzzles. Elisabeth had a great internal strength and a certainty for life and the way it should be.She is survived by her three children, Josef (Linda Butler) Peidelstein of Toronto, Canada, Richard (Nancy) Peidelstein of Baraboo, and Anna (Cliff) Blackman of Matamoras, PA; five grandchildren, Alice Talerico, April Peidelstein, Theresa, Ryan, and Adam Blackman; two great-grandchildren, Sonya Vida Talerico, and Nora Ruth Blackman. She is further survived by a large extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Anton.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at St. Clare Meadows Care Center for the fine care Elisabeth received during her stay there.
