Alice A. Bolstad


Alice Arlene (Gall) Bolstad, age 82, of Baraboo passed away on June 14, 2014 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. Alice was born the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Brecka) Gall on June 1, 1932 in Baraboo. She was joined in marriage to Donald Kasten, together they had a daughter Patsy. She was later united in marriage to Jerold Bolstad, and two more daughters joined their family, Christine and Maureen. Alice was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Club in Baraboo. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School; finishing school she started he working career at the Sauk County Court House. She then began working for Hill Top Dairy, which her family owned and operated. She continued her working career at Snow White Garment Manufacturing until they closed. Alice then began work as a bookkeeper for Isenbergs for many years; she finished her working career as a cashier at Ho-Chunk. Alice enjoyed working, she will always be remembered as a very hard worker. She enjoyed simple luxuries in life like music, dancing, and going out to eat; especially at Farm Kitchen. Alice is survived by her three daughters, Patsy (Scott) Simonds of Baraboo; their children, Peter (Laura) Simonds of Baraboo, and their children, Bayli, Bryce, Caleb, and Chase; and Sarah Simonds of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Christine "Kristi-B" (Paul) Barbian of Deerfield; children, Shaun (Robin Lytle) Hagany of Sun Prairie, and their children, Devyn and Landon; and Dustin (Lindsey Jackson) Hagany of Madison; and daughter Maureen (David) VanEnkevort of Poynette. She is further survived by many nieces; nephews, other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerold; and sisters, Lorraine Warn and Eleanor Miller. A private family burial is being held. A Memorial Gathering in celebration of Alice's life will be held at the Farm Kitchen on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 3-6p.m. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
