Michael "Mushy" M. Mayer


Michael "Mushy" M. Mayer passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Baraboo on August 2, 1949 to Al and Dorothy Mayer. Mike loved the sport of softball which he played, coached and umpired for many years. He was a team member on the Madison Area Senior Softball League and enjoyed playing with his teammates. Mike loved to decorate for the holidays, especially Halloween. Michael was employed at Bowling Green Softball Complex in Middleton for many years.He is survived by his special friend, Geri Breunig; her children, Autumn Fuller, Forrest Fuller; and grandson, Maxwell Fuller. He is also survived by his father, Al Mayer (Mary June); siblings, Patty (Larry) Pawlak, Jerry Mayer, Teresa Mayer, Tina Peters, Greg (Julie) Mayer as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Mayer; paternal grandparents, Leo (Amelia) Mayer; maternal grandparents, Leo (Mary) McGonigle; aunt, Mary "Aunt Boo" McGonigle; uncles, Robert "Bob" McGonigle and Eugene "Gene" McGonigle.Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Fairfield Town Hall, E12891 County Road U in Baraboo from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Donations can be sent to the funeral home to be forwarded to the family. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family, 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo.
