Edria L. (Sontag) Halbach, age 90, went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born Louise Edria Bertha Sonntag on February 2, 1924 to her parents; Edward Sonntag and Louise (Gerber) Sonntag in St. Joseph's Township, St. Croix County, WI. A graduate from The Stout Institute' (UW-Stout) with a BS in Home Economics; Edria worked for the UW Extension services-through which she met the love of her life - Richard Francis Halbach. They married on October 2, 1948 and were blessed with four sons; Thomas (Joey Dykstra) Halbach, Andrew (ODonna Behrandt) Halbach, John Jack' Halbach, and Daniel (Annette Budig) Halbach. Edria taught second grade for the Baraboo School district for 23 years. After retiring, she and Dick led farm tour groups throughout Europe. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Baraboo. Edria is survived by 3 of her sons; Tom, Andy and Dan, 8 grandchildren; Emily (Jason) McIntyre, Cynthia (Keith) Shypulski, Justin Halbach, Nathan Halbach, Erin Ann Halbach, Matthew Halbach, William Halbach and Emerson Halbach, 3 great-grandchildren; Charlotte McIntyre, Corbin and Sacia Shypulski. Two sisters; Betty Roettger and Marion Hill, special friends; Sharon Rheaume and Heather Wood-Wegner, and many other dear friends, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse; Richard, son; Jack, brothers; Walter Sontag, and Carl Sontag, sisters; Dorothy Nicolai, Norma Wiest, Elaine Juni, and Martha Orf. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo, with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. In lieu in flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Baraboo Indoor Pool or the Baraboo Public Library. There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Hillside Cemetery, in Somerset, WI. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
