James “Jim” R. Hinz


James "Jim" R. Hinz, age 75 of Baraboo died on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Jim, son of Frederick and Ida Mae Hinz was born on April 24, 1939 in Reedsburg. On Sept. 15, 1985 he was united in marriage to Nancy (Markley) Gonzagowski at their home. He was employed by Foley Brothers Quarry in Rock Springs for 18 years as well as Big Joe's Manufacturing in Wisconsin Dells for over 19 years. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren as well as hunting, fishing, camping, barbequing, snowmobiling, racing cars, and demolition derbies. Jim will also be remembered for his love of Dr. Pepper, his Oscar Meyer jumbo hotdogs and the original Lays potato chips.Survivors include, his wife, Nancy; former wife, Judy Langevin; children, Tim (Tammy) Hinz, Terry (Ann) Hinz, Thomas (Wendie) Hinz, Todd Hinz, Penny Rich, Jeff (Karen) Gonzagowski, Mark Gonzagowski, Laurie (Terry) Coplien, Chris Fish, Linda (Don) Thomas, Richard (Cindy) Gonzagowski, Sam (Rebecca) Gonzagowski; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Diane) Hinz; family friend, Josh Bosworth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; grandson, Francis Allen Gonzagowski; and a nephew, Steven Hinz.Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12, noon until the time of services at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
