JoNelle K. Marquardt


JoNelle "Jo" Kay Marquardt, age 65, of Baraboo was called to her eternal home on Friday, January 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Jo was born the daughter of Melvin and Delores (Muchow) Brandt on March 15, 1949 in Loganville. She was united in marriage to John Marquardt on October 16, 1971 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Jo was a 1967 graduate of the Baraboo Senior High School. She worked for many years as a legal secretary, most recently for Conway & Seefeld. In her later years Jo became a Mary Kay consultant. Jo loved to watch Wisconsin sports; especially the Milwaukee Brewers. She enjoyed shopping and attending art fairs with her daughters. Jo kept many beautifully written journals which detailed her daily life. Along with her husband John, Jo enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. She spent many nights cuddled up with her four legged friends, Katie and Abby. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family; especially her grandkids; Lily, Hunter, and Carly. Jo will be remembered for her sweet nature and optimistic outlook on life. She was a very patient person and was always willing to help others. She had a quirky sense of humor and loved to laugh. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Jo is survived by her husband of 43 years, John; daughters, Kristi (Rob) Heim, Kari (Ben) Thoma, and Jenna Marquardt; grandchildren, Lillian Grace and Charlotte Rosemarie Heim and Hunter John Thoma. She is further survived by her father, Melvin Brandt; brothers, Richard (Donna) Brandt and Thomas (Lori) Brandt; sisters-in-law, Judy Birch, Jan (Bill) Bance, Nadine Marquardt, and Julie Blaney; and brother-in-law, Mike (Jeannie) Marquardt. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Brandt; parents-in-law, Melvin and Mildred Marquardt; brothers-in-law, James, Gerald, and Mark Marquardt. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. Baraboo. Continued Visitation will take place on Friday from 10am until the time of service, at the church. Burial will follow services at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo.The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at St. Clare Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital for their great care and compassion.
