Wendall Wayne Summers


Wendall Wayne Summers, age 66 of Baraboo, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 peacefully at home. Wendall was born on March 29, 1948. He spent his boyhood on a farm near Colby, Wisconsin. So that his father-in-law could attend, he was united in marriage to Lynne M. Edwards in the Chapel at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo on April 6, 1968. Four hours later, they repeated their vows at another ceremony in Wisconsin Dells. He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited. In his free time he enjoyed hunting; until his daughter married a non-hunter. Wendall attended UW-Stevens Point, majoring in Forestry; following college he moved out west to fight forest fires. Later on he worked for Hein Werner as a welder and St. Clare Hospital as a Security Guard.He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Tom) Wiersma of Rio; son, Kendall W. Summers of Beaver Dam; three grandsons, Steven Adkins-Summers of Baraboo and Luke and Mark Wiersma of Rio; his brother, Marvin Summers of Baraboo; as well as sister-in-law, Sandy Edwards of Baraboo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
