Hazel E. Leiser


Hazel E. Leiser passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Meadow Ridge Assisted Living in Baraboo at the age of 88. Born in Baraboo on June 26, 1926 she was the seventh child of Edward and Carrie Amy (Beardsley) Wieglow's eight children. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1944 and married Ronald D. "Roundy" Leiser a year later on October 11, 1945. They farmed north of Baraboo and continued to live on the farm several years after their retirement. Hazel was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Baraboo. Hazel is survived by her children, Yvonne (Jack Olson) Leiser of Kapa'au HI, Teresa (John) Setchell of Mendota, IL, and Randal Leiser of Baraboo WI; her grandchildren, Matthew (Krista) Westerman, Kristen Westerman Escatel, Jamy Olson (Garrett McNally) and Justin (Kira) Setchell; and by her great-grandchildren: Antonio, Zachariah, Dagen, Marly, Rhyan, Alyson and Lumen. She is also survived by her sister Martha "Billie" Lawson of Forest Park, GA; her sister-in-law Marilyn Bland of Altadena, CA; four step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter. She was also thankful to have these special people in her life, Ellen Holcomb, Lester and Donna Beardsley, the Girls of '44 and her church family. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Leiser; her siblings, Margaret Pasko, Roger Wieglow, Kenneth Wieglow, Dorothy Muniz, Winifred Foster and Leo Wieglow. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
