Robert “Bob” Donald Bell


Robert "Bob" Donald Bell, Sr., age 81 of Baraboo passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at his home. Robert, son of James and Lorraine (Kopf) Bell was born March 13, 1934 in Ableman. He graduated from Reedsburg High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Army. After three years of service he was honorably discharge as a Sergeant. On Oct. 24, 1959 he was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Meske of LaRue. She preceded him in death on June 4, 1998. Bob worked at Koenecke Farms as a farm hand and later went to work for Peck's Hatchery/Alexander Farms. After retiring he went to work for Luther Farms in Baraboo. He was united in marriage to Coleen Potter on May 19, 2001; she preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2009. Bob served on church council for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Springs. In his free time he enjoyed driving his old tractor, attending auctions, fixing motors and sharing his garden produce. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and trapping.Survivors include his children, Gwen (Jerry) Drolshagen, Richard Bell, Brenda (Gary) Bosgraaf, Robert (Laura Zimmerman) Bell, Jr., Constance (Makoto) Toyoda-Bell and Theresa (Alan) Hellenbrand; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lester (Heidi) Bell, Edith (Harley) Weise, William (Mary) Bell, James (Carol) Bell, Dennis (Betty) Bell, Ronald (Bonnie) Bell, Donald (Sandy) Bell, John (Sue) Bell, Susan Bell as well as other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; brother, Theodore Bell; sister, Donna Fay Dyke; and great-grandson, Ryllan Carpenter. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Springs with Pastor David Karow officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom with Military Rites. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
