Douglas “Doug” Hollinsed


Douglas "Doug" Hollinsed, age 59 of Baraboo passed away due to a brain aneurysm on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his family. Doug, son of Douglas and Geraldine (Bender) Hollinsed was born Feb. 16, 1956 in Baraboo.He was united in marriage to Anne Rindfleisch on May 19, 2001 in Baraboo.He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be missed by many. Doug was employed by Luther Parr Builders for over 20 years and then became self-employed for many years as a general contractor. In his free time Doug was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. His greatest joy in life was being in the outdoors. He was a loving caretaker of all animals, big and small. Doug was an avid Packer, Brewer and NASCAR fan and a passionate student of World War II history.Survivors include his wife, Anne; children, Nikki Zimmerman, Lee Michael Hollinsed (Tonia Lange), Brittany Hollinsed (Travis Bauer), Melissa (John) Rogers; grandchildren, Marcus, Kaitlyn, and Ashley Zimmerman, John, Lily and Haddy Rogers; sisters, Kathy Knight, and Karen Hollinsed (Donal Farrar); first wife, Barbara (Butch) Von Behren; several cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas (Rita) Hollinsed and Geraldine (Donald) Kinnick; and his brother, Michael "Mickey".A memorial gathering and visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Baraboo EMS, St. Clare Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
