Joyce Anna Peters of Baraboo


Joyce Anna (Schaefer) Peters, 88 of Baraboo died on September 25, 2015. She was born on April 27, 1927 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She attended school in Marshfield. On October 27, 1944, she married George Gerhardt Peters at St. Michaels church in Wausau. She lived in various places throughout Wisconsin then settled in Baraboo approximately 38 years ago. In earlier years, she raised children and also worked in hospitals as a housekeeper. Later on, she enjoyed volunteering at Circus World Museum Baraboo library and St. Clare Meadows. She was a member of Tops, SHH, and Catholic Daughters of Isebella. Joyce loved to travel, participate in church activities, play cards, work jigzaw puzzles, work on her ipad, visit the Senior Center, and spend time with family and her pet birds. She was preceded in death by her parents Viola and Charles, sister Janice Walker, sons Chris and Robert, triplets Suzanne, Mary, and Margaret. She is survived by her husband of 70 years George; seven sons and four daughters Clarence (Karen), Ervin (Cathy), Raymond (Nan), Diane Bixby, Ron (Sandy), Randy (Sharon), Marlene (David) Crowe, Nancy (Jim) Kohn, David (Barb), Steven (Sherry), Linda (Steven) Everding; sisters Suzanne Snyder and Crystal Virgin. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. She felt very loved by her cousin and special friend Corrine Kettleborough. Service will be held at St Joseph's Church on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Fr. Jay Poster will be officiating . A visitation will take place prior to funeral at 11:00 AM until the time of service. The Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 4 PM on Monday September 28, 2015 in the Holy Family Room in Joyce's memory. A private burial will take place on a later day at St Joseph cemetery. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.The family would like to thank Dr. Flygt (her dedicated physician) and St Clare Meadows for their attentive care throughout the final years of Joyce's life.
