Douglas B. McMullen


Douglas "Doug" Bruce McMullen, 77, of Baraboo passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Doug was born on November 25, 1938 to Gene and Claudia McMullen in Seattle, Washington. He was united in marriage to Judy Rogers on June 22, 1962; together they had four children. He later married Kerelyn Nordstrom on February 21, 1988 they shared many wonderful years together before her passing in 2010. Doug proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy; after 20 years of service he retired in 1999. He worked as an anesthesiologist during his time in the Navy, as well as running his own private practice in Cheyenne, WY. Together with his wife Kerelyn, Doug enjoyed traveling around the country and the world. During his time in the Navy they were able to visit Japan, Hawaii, and Thailand and many other ports. He was an avid golfer, and more recently enjoyed getting together with friends to play cards several days a week. Doug is survived by his children, Kristin (J.D.) Danni, Robert (Kirsten) McMullen, Carolyn (Nick) McMullen, Lisa (Steve) Atkinson, and Ken (Jen) Anderson; nine grandchildren, Jack, Blake, Sloane, Devon, Kacey, Sam, Alex, Kim, and Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kerelyn; son, Thomas McMullen.A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Redlin Funeral Home 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo, with Pastor Dave Hutchens officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted following the service at the funeral home.
