Paul D. Henke


Surrounded by his wife and family Paul Dean Henke lost his long and courageous battle with cancer, and has gone to his eternal rest on Friday, March 11, 2016. Paul was born on October 3, 1954 to Dean Lamoine and Eva Ellen (Murphy) Henke in Baraboo.He grew up on a family farm in the North Freedom area along with his three sisters, Linda, Carol, and Peggy. Paul was a quiet, hardworking, man with strong morals and a gentleness to all who knew him. He took great pride in his children, Benjamin Paul and Forest Daniel who were his proudest accomplishments; and he loved them more than life itself. He met and married his best friend Lisa Cole in 1993 and built a life of love and happiness until the day of his death. Paul enjoyed the simple things in life; camping, bbqing, bowling, fishing and his passion of softball, where he earned his nickname "Smoke." His family was extremely important to him and he had a quiet zest for life and spending time with loved ones.Paul is survived by his wife, Lisa; sons, Ben (Michelle) Henke and Forest Henke; grandchildren, Brent and Faith; sisters, Linda (Vern) Denzer, Carol (Dave) Fuller, and Peggy Savage; brothers-in-law, Joel (Linda) Cole, Edgar Cole, Jr., and John Cole; sisters-in-law, Mary (Rick) Stieve, Michelle Griffin, and Tamara (Steve) Braun. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Dean, mother, Eva; mother and father-in-law, Edgar and Bonnievere Cole; his brother, Randy Lee Henke; and brother-in-law, Carl Savage.Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Redlin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4-7pm at the funeral home; continued visitation will take place on Thursday from 10am until the time of service. Burial will follow services at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
