David A. Krueger


David A. Krueger, 71, of Baraboo, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo with his family by his side. He was born October 22, 1944, the son of Edward R and Betty A (True) Krueger in Baraboo. While his father was serving during WWII, David and his mother lived in the upstairs apartment of dear and lifelong friends, the Donald and Monica Mackenzie family. He attended Lyons Elementary School in West Baraboo, and Baraboo Jr. and Sr. High. Growing up he spent many hours on the Baraboo River with his brother, sister, and the neighboring Nolden family. David served in the Army National Guard, worked for Ploetz Furniture, for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, installed swimming pools, and for most of his working years he installed carpeting and flooring. He was an active member of the Badger Steam and Gas Club and enjoyed restoring tractors with Dick Krueger and family. David enjoyed fishing and will be greatly missed by his fishing buddies, Glenn Lind, Rodney McCabe and others. Once a week for thirty-five years he joined good friends, Bruce and Annie Jackson at their home for food, drink, and friendship. David took pride in keeping his lawn and garden looking good. He was the third generation on the fmaily farm. he started vegetable and flower plants in the spring and shared them with family and friends. Survivors include his brother, Ed (Sue) Krueger of Grant Valkaria, FL; sister, Sharon (Warren) Terry of Baraboo; nephew, Joseph (LaCinda) Terry of Port Edwards; nieces, Yenti (rick) Eilertson of Baraboo, Robyn Krueger of Austin, TX, and Ann (Nick) Ling of Folsom, CA. He is further survived by great-nephews and nieces, Calen Terry, Tristin Terry, Erik Eilertson, Evan Eilertson, Abigal Ling and Allison Ling. He was preceded in death by his parents.The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family. There will be a private family burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Baraboo. A gathering in memory and celebration of David's life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home farm on Hwy 136 from 12:30-4:00PM. We thank the many caring people who were David's family and friends along with his doctors and caregivers through his final journey.
