John Elmer Hehenberger, age 84 of Baraboo passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Meadowview Assisted Living in Baraboo. John, son of Elmer and Lucille Hehenberger was born Dec. 21, 1931 in Sauk City. On Sept. 15, 1951 he was united in marriage to Beverly Hill; she preceded him in death on July 8, 2007. On Jan. 10, 1952 he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on Oct. 9, 1953. John owned and operated Baraboo Implement for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. In his free time he enjoyed restoring Massey Ferguson tractors and visiting with the farmers and friends that would stop in his shop.Survivors include his many nieces and nephews, and close friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bev and his brother Robert Hehenberger.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Baraboo with Pastor Marianne Cotter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Badger Steam and Gas. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
