Marjorie Ann (Troyer) Harr


Marjorie Harr (Marge), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called home to Jesus on Friday, July 1, 2016. She passed away at home surrounded by her family after a short battle with Ovarian cancer. Marge was born in Kokomo, IN, the daughter of John and Helen Troyer. Marge graduated Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, and was assigned as a mission nurse at Espanola NM hospital. It was there she met her future husband, Reverend Verlyn Harr. After their marriage, the Harr's lived in Leona, KS, where Marge became active in the church her husband served as pastor. Throughout her life, Marge remained active in the various churches, taking leadership posts in The United Methodist Women's organization. In 1968, Marge and Verlyn moved to Wisconsin, where she continued her mission work for the church, raising her family and again practicing nursing. Marge also worked after her retirement from nursing as a phone sales operator for Lands' End. Marge retired with her husband to North Freedom, WI, where they lived with a wonderful view overlooking a valley that frequently had deer and other wildlife. She loved watching the birds outside her windows.Marge is survived by her husband, Verlyn, along with her son Dan (Rocket) in Acworth, GA and her daughter Debra (Lynch) Allison of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack in Baraboo, WI, and John (June) of Peru, IN, and a brother-in-law Myron (Evelyn) of Savannah, MO. Grandchildren include Melissa (Nick) Lang, John Allison, Brad Funk, Steve Funk, Cody Fisher and Kim (Michael) Hudson, as well as a great-grandson, Logan Lang.A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11am at the Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo, WI. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the Redlin Funeral Home, and again from 10-11am at the church Friday morning.In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to be sent to Emanuel Methodist Church. Memorials will be used for Mission work in Marge's name.
