Christine Marie MacKenzie, age 66, of Merrimac, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Christine, daughter of Joseph and Jean (Machniak) Hahn was born on October 4, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. On April 29, 1972 she was united in marriage to Scott A. MacKenzie in Arlington Heights, Illinois.Christine loved anything that had to do with the lake including waterskiing, ice skating, fishing and boating. Her biggest joy in life was spending time her family and watching the grandkids grow up. She also enjoyed spending time outside gardening and hiking. Christine loved music, sitting at home watching the birds on the bird feeder and enjoyed the company of her cats. Christine is survived by her husband Scott MacKenzie of Merrimac; children, Julie (Charlie) Hall of Merrimac, Cyndi (Dan) Gustafson of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Erin (Brian) Silk of Shawano, Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren, Liam, Matthew and Brianna Silk and Harper Gustafson; a sister, Betty (Stewart Powell) Hahn of Peach Tree City, Georgia and brother, Joe (Juliana) Hahn of Merrimac. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Frances Hanson.A private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Merrimac with Father Jay Poster officiating. A celebration of Christine's life will be held later in the spring.
