Duane R. Washburn

Duane R. Washburn, age 89 of Briggsville passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Duane, son of Andrew and Esther (Burtch) Washburn was born Sept. 15, 1929 in Baraboo. He was employed by Badger Ordnance as a carpenter for many years. Duane proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for three years until his honorable discharge. On Oct. 28, 1991 he was united in marriage to Patty Hinkley in Washburn, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Elk's Club, was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors include his loving wife, Patty; children, Pamela Bredesen, Paula (Todd) Hanger and Shelley (Todd) Persinger; step-children, Diana (Goeff) Marquardt, Mark (Todd Goldsberry) Schmoller, Brenda (Paul) Burnham, Steve Schmoller; grandchildren, Marcus Bredesen, Courtney Persinger, Caitlyn Persinger, Logan Hanger, Lucas Hanger, Lacey Hanger; step-grandchildren, Patty Buska, Steve Buska, Dakota Burnham and three step-greatgrandchildren; brothers, Gene (Elaine) Washburn, James (Peggy) Washburn; sister-in-law, Pat Washburn as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Andrew Washburn; mother of his children, Joyce Washburn, infant twin sons, Dennis and Danny Washburn, and grandson, Christopher Persinger.Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Alfred officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
